The Semi-Official Wii U Retail Recommendations Thread

My brother gave me $60 of eShop credit for my birthday, but I'm having a bit of trouble deciding what to choose. Right now I can get Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for 33% off, and considering the fact that Wii U games are usually $80 in Australia, it seems like a wise choice. I'd even have enough leftover funds in my wallet for a Virtual Console game! However, I've been eagerly anticipating the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and while there's a chance I can find a way to scrape together enough for another $60 eShop Card before then, there are no guarantees.
My question is this: what would you do in my situation? Is Tropical Freeze a fantastic enough game to warrant an immediate purchase? Does the promise of another VC game to go with it trump Pokémon ORAS? I am open to any positive advice relating to my query.
Do you even need to ask? I'm in the game, for crying out loud! And though the game may be on one of them Whee-Woohoo whatsits, my presence makes it blah blah rant blah...>
