As previously mentioned in a recent Nintendo Direct, A special Nintendo Direct for the Wii U exclusive The Wonderful 101 was released this morning, hosted by Platinum game's creative director, Hideki Kamiya, in which gives us a great amount of details regarding the upcoming Wii U game.

He details more information about the game's setting and the story, such as the main enemies which are aliens that named the Geathjerk invaders, as well as revealing some new rivals that the main heroes will face off, but the heroes will also have some allies that will help them stop the aliens from conquering the planet earth.

There's also more information regarding their heroes and their own powers as well, giving us some new information about the gameplay mechanics such as Unite morph, which sometimes can be used to go through some obstacles such as building yourself a bridge, a ladder, etc. but most importantly you can turn your heroes into a specific giant weapon that can help you fight through enemies, and each weapons have their unique abilities to use against them, such as the gun that can be used for aerial enemies, and the sword that can overtake surrounding enemies.

There's also more information regarding the gameplay, such as an in-game store that sells items that can help you in battles such as a dodging move, some items that can restore your health, etc. as well as combos that can be pulled by having the ability to use multiple unite morphs to pull them off, an even some replayability details that mentions that you can earn ranks in each battles, in which you can earn a higher one depending on how well you are in the battles.

The Wonderful 101 Direct ends with an amazing 7-minute-and-a-half trailer showcasing the story and characters of the game.

If you only have these two choices, which one will you choose ? to have a game with no story ? or to have a game with the most ridiculous, boring, cliché-filled and horrible story ever ?
Do games need to be epic ?... or fun ?...
