Downloadable Retail Titles

There's less than 18 hours to wait until Fire Emblem: Awakening will be available to download in the eastern U.S. So, who of you will also be choosing to download the game, instead of purchasing a physical cartridge? I don't plan to download every retail game from the eShop, just certain games for specific reasons. I'm only choosing to download Awakening, because of the extensive amount of DLC that'll periodically become available. Other than collectible value, what advantage would there be for me to purchase the cartridge instead? I mean, it's not like I'm going to sell the cartridge for a profit, after I've downloaded $50-$100 worth of DLC. I know pre-orders of Awakening are included with an exclusive artbook, but I evaluated the situation, and the artbook just isn't enough of an incentive. On the other hand, every initial copy of Etrian Odyssey IV: The Legends of the Titan will contain an exclusive artbook & music CD. Now that seems like a worth while reason to purchase the physical cartridge. Especially since Etrian Odyssey IV won't have any DLC available. In other instances, I would still choose the physical cartridge without any extra incentives. Like, I'm not going pay $30 + tax to download Shadow Wars, when I was able to purchase a new copy at a local discount store for only $6.40 w/tax. How does everybody else feel about this subject, and can you relate to my understanding?

I'm downloading ALL titles from now on since it'll all be connected soon most likely, plus I like the idea of RPGs always with me, and BIG games like RER, MGS, and KH DDD on the go looks so cool in front of that random guy who says his DL (Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Bejewled) is awesome

I'd probably download almost all of my games. The exceptions would be Collector's Edition packages, Nintendo DS and Wii games, and retro games bought from places such as eBay.

So I was unsure if I was going to DL RER, since I already have it in physical form but with yesterday's release on the eShop for only 19.99 and combined with the transfer tool I may just do that, that and I also need to play it more and would most likely do that of it was always on me

^ Yep, I came to the same contemplation. The only other physical cartridge I own is Tom Clancy's: Ghost Recon - Shadow Wars, and I purchased that game new for $6.40. I wouldn't pay $30 for the digital version, though. Not when I can just keep the cartridge in my 3DS, and download the rest of my 3DS games. RE:R is totally worth $20, and I'd like to always have access to it as well.

That's my sentiment on Kid Icarus: Uprising. Why get the download version when I'll miss out on the starter set of Idol AR Cards?

@zack why not both? I might rebuy KIU if it comes, transfer my data and sell just the cart but keep the stand and the AR Cards

I might do eventually. I just need to wait for the eShop version of that and my other retail game.
