Down for Maintenance Alert Thread! (3DS eShop)

Is the eShop seriously down for maintenance right now? I tried to log in like three times, and I keep receiving the same damn message over and over again. "An error has occurred. Please return to the Home Menu and turn system off & on, before attempting to connect again." I know there was no maintenance announced for the 3DS eShop, so what the hell is going on?! Would someone else please try to connect to the eShop, and let me know if you encounter the same issue?
Edit: Nevermind, I'm able to log into the eShop now, but it's been extremely buggy for some reason. At first, I was unable to even search for games by their title, and the Virtual Console section still won't load for anything.
