NPD group's U.S. software sales results are in and two 3DS titles are among the best-sellers for August. New Super Mario Bros. 2 in second place, and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance in third place respectively.
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, The Amazing Spider-Man and Call of Duty: Black Ops are also among the top ten. Additional NPD details:
- Industry sales dropped 20 percent to $515.6 million
- Total software sales (including PC retail software) dropped 11 percent to $252.8 million
- Hardware sales declined 39 percent to $150.6 million
- Accessories were down seven percent to $127.3 million
