Direct or no direct?

So today felt like a direct style day, but without the direct. A lot of people assume Directs will no longer happen after recent tragic events and today felt like we got direct style news, what with release dates for games, Amiibo, and even Europe got a "after this direct" style announcement of Xenoblade on WiiU eShop.
However Japan on the other hand had no big announcments, but instead they got..... NO NEW VC announced! The last times we've had this we got: Wii downloads, DS/N64, and Mother 1 on VC, so that begs the question of weather or not were getting a direct soon, or are they done?

I guess we'll need to wait and see, @passioNATE.

I think they'll take a short break since Iwata-san died, but I think we'll have a new one next month just before Super Mario Maker's release.

I hope we'll see more Reggie-san and Morimoto-san in future Nintendo Directs!

I do wonder though, since there was a rumor direct a few weeks ago with very low expectations which seemed legit... I do think there is some truth to these rumored directs
