Was Naruto's mother or father the previous Nine Tails Jinchuriki? I know Naruto's father was the fourth hokage, but why hasn't anything been revealed about Naruto's mother?

Yes Naruto's mother Kushina Uzumaki was the former nine tails jinchuriki who's seal was weakened due to giving birth to Naruto. The Akatsuki took advantage of this and had Madara Uchiha break the seal and cause the nine tails to go on a rampage, though Madara could control the tailed beast to an extent and you can probably figure out the rest based on what's aired in America that is of course if you've watched the entire original Naruto series.
