EA shutting down online services on certain Wii games EA-impress-by-wii-u

Since EA has shut down the online services for Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 for the Wii back then, it looks like they are doing it again with more of their Wii games...

EA has stated on their website that they are doing some server maintenance, in which that also will come with the removal of online support for some previous titles they've published and developed, but I'm just going to list just the Nintendo Wii related games here:

"BOOM BLOX Bash Party for Wii
EA Create for PC, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360
EA Sports Active 2.0 for PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360
EA Sports Active NFL Training Camp for Wii
FIFA 10 for PlayStation Portable and Wii"

Well... it sure is pretty bad for those people who enjoyed those online portions of those games...

This is why online gameplay should never fully replace offline gameplay since most of the games would be unplayable after a few years. Mad

I know! Single player campaigns will always be a must when buying games as a consumer. Wink

Seems like a short lifespan for the online play, but it makes sense for EA to pull out, I suppose. And yes, I agree with the sentiments regarding single player campaigns - they're here to stay.
