It's not accurate. One of the gags in the movie is that the father would take any word - any word from any language - and explain in detail why that word is rooted in Greek. He also used Windex as a solution to many problems, even gigantic skin blemishes.

Joking aside, I doubt that Zed's friends and allies can use transmutation magic, especially since it doesn't technically exist in Junihoshi (although many other worlds do have transmutation magic).

Werewolves can shift between human and wolf form, but it's more of a naturally-occurring ability rather than being "magic"; even though lycanthropy was caused by an enchantment, it has since become ingrained within the entire race, being passed down from parent to child through the generations. The children of humans and werewolves end up a hybrid of human and wolf, having human bodies combined with wolflike traits, but again it's not really a transformation since wolfborn are born like that.

There is one character, however, who can wilfully take on a desired shape. Who is it? Spoilers.
