Wow, that would have it feel like a huge step forward rather than just the new Game Boy. Don't get me wrong, it was a great handheld and definitely improved upon the other two in every conceivable way, but a shop would be the icing on the cake.

Nintendo might have actually done a good job on the Wii shop if they had some previous experience with online gameplay and download shops.

Agreed with Love4Gaming. But what confuses me is why they didn't add the idea of an online shop in the original Nintendo DS.
