I’ve been using Doulingo to practice my Japanese, I’m doing ok but I wish I was better at remembering

@Staroceancrazy I believe you’re asking if I can read that Japanese, honestly the text part is the worst because I get a lot of the letters confused

@KokorOtaku The literal translation is "Is your understanding of Japanese progressing? So you were spot-on, although as we both know there are always many more accurate ways of reading Japanese language. The fact that you have clear understanding of the language means that you will definitely be able to fully learn Japanese in the future.

@Towafan7 I hope so because the more time that goes by the more I feel like I’ll never make it… I’ve been out of school for almost 10 years and still haven’t made the progress I wanted.

@TheRealSquigley @KokorOtaku @Towafan7 @ToughGamer I was so shocked when I heard the news. Most everyone here in mainland Japan respected him for his honor and integrity. He was also known as kind hearted with a good sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

He actually lost his position in 2020 and it wasn't a political meeting that he was assassinated at it was a political rally where he was promoting a political candidate running in this years election. That's not on you though, for some reason that information isn't easy to find on English websites.

That is so sad

@Rukia sadly not much, but my friend and his fiancé are planing to go there with me next year, we just gotta get our passport stuff ready. I really hope this goes through and I can finally meet someone nice… I went through a lot over the past decade thinking I’d be there already.

I really wish I were smarter and could function physically well enough to move to Japan.

exactly the same for me, Kushina was the one time I honestly felt close to achieving this, but since then I’ve only had one other women who was close to what I wanted and she just ended up using me until she found someone else and ended up throwing me away

@KeAfan7 yeah I even bought her a Switch a few years ago, and I was ok being just friends but she said we couldn’t once she got herself a girlfriend… thankfully they broke up but she won’t talk to me which shows her true intentions.

@KokorOtaku If it’s any consolation, I didn’t even think it was possible for me until recently. Only now do I have some hope that there’s someone for everyone, which makes no sense given I’m still single at my age… seriously, it’s like it came out-of-the-blue.

One moment I have no concept of romance, the next I’m suddenly believing in the idea of "soulmates" and "true love," without any context or past relationship experience to explain it (I got over my fear of heights in a similarly unexplainable way).

Okay, this is going off into a tangent (apologies, heheh… ), so I’ll leave you with this:

A lot of the things we chase after in life have a habit of suddenly and unexpectedly popping up the moment we stop chasing them, take a breather, and let things happen. If you allow yourself to pause and enjoy the good things in your life right now, it’ll make the moment you and your Special One come into each others’ lives all the more rewarding and magical.

Sometimes, the best things in life are the ones we least expect. Bonus points if they’re also our deepest and truest desires, which happens more often than not. Be patient, my friend. The best is yet to come.

To paraphrase Gandalf the Grey, “A moment is never too late, nor too early. It happens precisely when it’s meant to.” That goes double for love. It can be a long wait, but SO worth it once you get to the Happily Ever After.
