Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is a upcoming 3DS retail title that was suppose to be release in late 2012.
Nintendo finally confirms via NOA website that the long awaited ghostbusting sequel will release in spring, 2013. Expect Dark Moon to be release sometime after March 24, the release date of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity for the Nintendo 3DS.

Wasn't there rumors that this game was also going to be released on the Wii U as well?

Springtime is like the worst possible time of the year to release a videogame with a premise like this one.

True but I suppose it's better than having to wait until October or so. That would be nearly a year delay.
