Been playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Switch. So relaxing and a great way to unwind.

I have also been playing the first Ori game on Switch. Love the graphics, the music, the gameplay. It's all so good.

On PC, I bought Return of the Phantom on GOG.com. It's an adventure game in the Opera House in Paris. You need to solve a murder and the suspect is the Phantom of the Opera. Really love the animation of the characters. It's so smooth and still looks good today. But man does the main character walks sloooowwwww.

Bowser's Fury is great. Love the direction Nintendo is taking with the Mario series. Really enjoying it so far.

Been playing Pac-Man 99. It's strangely addicting. Gobbeling up an entire row of ghosts is very satisfying. Best result so far was third.

I started playing Pokémon Legends: Arceus for the first time this morning, and just received a tip-off leading to my first Noble Pokémon encounter (Kleavor). I gotta say, this one’s much better than I’d expected! victory

After some careful consideration, I settled on the name “Aric” for my character, completing an unintended name pattern trifecta in all three main Generation 8 playthroughs (“Arthur” in Sword, named after Arthur Pendragon; and “Arwyn” in Brilliant Diamond, a play on the Arwing fighters in the Star Fox series).

As for Pokémon nicknames, much like how my party members in Sword are named after characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog series (with my “Little Crew” named after Archieverse characters Sally Acorn, Bark the Polar Bear, and Bean the Dynamite, as well as Carbuncle, Alex Kidd, and AiAi from other well-known SEGA franchises), and those of my squadmates in Brilliant Diamond are borrowed from the Star Fox series (planets and stars in my main party, Star Fox team members in my “Little Crew,” and a mix of Star Wolf unit members and sectors in my Gym Team), I’ve decided to name my companions in Legends: Arceus after various races in The Legend of Zelda series, starting with “Deku,” my trusty partner Rowlet.

He’s since been joined by three additional buddies, “Hylian” the Shinx, “Rito” the Starly, and “Korok” the Kricketot (though she’s since evolved into a Kricketune), with several others still to come:

A male Growlithe named “Goron”
A female Water-type named “Zora”
A male Dark-type named “Sheikah”
A female Pokémon named “Gerudo”
A male Pokémon named “Moblin”
A Ghost-type Pokémon named “Poe”
A Fairy-type Pokémon
A Pokémon named ChuChu

Bayonetta 3 and Persona 5 Royal, I’ve been doing a lot more handing in the pas few months even Beaton big RPGs such as Xenoblade 3, Trails of Cold Steel 3, and NeiR Automata and currently I’m 30 hours in P5R! I’m feeling good about my gaming progress though I wish I could just get paid to play these games

I'm currently replaying the first half of Xenoblade Chronicles except this time around it's Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive on the Nintendo Switch OLED. I also started playing TLoZ: Skyward Sword HD (My all-time favorite TLoZ game only better), Shin Megami Tensei V, and a little bit of Metroid Dread.

I've just been slowly chipping away at Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive recently and trying to do just a handful of sidequests at a time now, because it really does feel like such an arduous task to complete every single sidequest in the game all over again even if the last time I played Xenoblade Chronicles was an entire decade ago. I just can't wait to take a lengthy break at the same exact point I did the first time I played the original game. I've never explored the game past Alcamoth, so this will be the very first time that I've stepped foot on the Mechonis Fallen Arm. I want to play through that part of the game on a 1440p monitor with the M-Classic, so Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive doesn't look any worse visually then Xenoblade Chronicles 2 & Torna, because I definitely plan to experience the sequel and its prequel that same way too.

I also made it through the entire first area of Huntdown, but I haven't met all the requisites for each level yet. So far, it has been a really good side-scrolling shooter, but it would probably be a much more enjoyable game if I was playing it co-op.

@SunDownSamurai I’ve barely touched my copy since buying it. It’s in my backlog, but there are only so many hours in the day than can be sunk into such a massive action RPG.

Of course, being utterly rubbish and/or garbage at the game doesn’t exactly motivate me either…

Has anyone else tried Coromon? I highly recommend it if you haven’t (tl;dr: it’s a super-good Pokémon-like RPG with more than enough unique features to make it feel like its own thing… oh, and at least one music track that sounds like something straight from a Rare-developed N64 game).

Sorry I didn’t see this post earlier, I stopped at chapter 12 last time but I’ve been recruiting the DLC characters too (which I recommend doing before you get too far for story reasons)

You can just start with the 2nd, and I highly recommend that because of all the QoL improvements

@KokorOtaku The start is a bit more dialogue heavy than expected, but what I’ve played so far is pretty good.

The characters are so full of personality (excuse the pun). Yosuke is my favourite of the two protagonist friends, and while I’m not yet sure what to make of Chie, I’m sure she’ll grow on me in time as well.

Dr. Mario (the Game Boy version), Mario Golf (The Game Boy Color version), and Mario Tennis (the Game Boy Color version) are officially playable on Nintendo Switch Online, so naturally this means I’ve been playing both Persona 4 Golden and Pokémon Violet… oh, and a bunch of game demos, just to see if I like ‘em.

Whelp, I’m just about finished with both Violet and P4G, albeit for very different reasons (nearly completed all three ‘dexes in the former; total immersion breakdown and unwillingness to finish the story in the latter), so it’s almost time for another game rotation.

I’m thinking a Scarlet playthrough is next on the agenda, along with one or two other “retail-sized” Switch games… I should also pick up where I left off in Pokémon TCG and the Oracle games… ooh, and my SMM2 Worlds!

It turns out my concern with the rest of P4G was kinda misplaced.

It seemed as though the story was building to the point where the player has to choose a romantic partner to date, but after finding out that the only choices are female (apparently there was a male option intended, but it was scrapped for the final version of the game), not to mention the overly uncomfortable comments from Morooka, I felt a little disheartened.

Fortunately, it turns out it’s possible to turn down all the girls’ advances, meaning I can still go through the game without being pressured to play my character as straight, though it still kinda bites that my in-game avatar has to be closeted rather than openly gay… Bored/What the...?

Yeah that is unfortunate, sadly 2008 wasn’t yet ready for acceptance of LGBTQ people, hopefully a P6 will rectify that
