In Japan, that is. The 1+ million milestone only takes physical units into consideration and not the digital copies. Otherwise it would have broken one million unit sales long ago.
New Super Mario Bros 2 is currently fourth in Japan's software & hardware sales for this week.
1) Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f (Vita) (Sega) 159,592
2) Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers (3DS) (Atlus) 69,365
3) Senran Kagura Burst: Guren no Shoujotachi (3DS) (Marvelous) 69,084
4) New Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS) (Nintendo) 56,061 (1,037,205)[right]

I wonder how many exact digital copies sold? Anyway I'm sure NSMB2 will sell over 20 million world wide, and U will also sell a ton
