In a recent interview with Nintendo World Report Paramount Pictures Senior Vice President Brian Miller stated that the new Star Trek game could also come to the Nintendo WiiU; “its early” he said “Good thing we have a lot of time to figure that out, and over the next few months we’ll be able to announce a few more things” He went on to say that “We are exploring right now all of our options to get on the platforms that make sense” At the initial announcement it was stated that the game would be released for The Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, after this interview it seems like this might change.
This New Star Trek game takes place after the last movie, it’s an original story written by God of War writer Marianne Krawczky, and Star Trek veteran Writers Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The Game is being developed by Digital Extremes and jointly published by Namco Bandai games and Paramount Digital Entertainment. It is slated for release early 2013.
Will this be like a tie in to the upcoming 2013 movie, or will it be a stand alone story? Do we have to play this game to get more of a back-story to the next movie who knows? Expect updates as they come.
