Okay Okay people don’t get too excited just yet; At this point it is just a rumour there has been no official confirmation from Nintendo. According to a “Leaked” document from Staff at Media Land (a Japanese Game Store based in Akihabara) Nintendo’s new console the WiiU will be launching on November 18th 2012 here in North America. The document also stated that the console would launch one week later in Japan, No European release date was mentioned.
Looking back at the launches of Nintendo’s previous consoles (Gamecube November 18th 2001, and Nintendo Wii November 19th 2006) it’s not hard to consider this as fact as it falls in line with the other consoles.
While we are not sure if this is the exact launch date; we do know that the console will be released late this year, based on a statement from Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "Wii U will launch some time between E3 - which is in June - at the end of the year so essentially the second half of the year,”
So what are your thoughts? Do you think this release date is fact or fiction?

I have a feeling casual games and certain low budget and indie games will continue to be released on the Wii for years to come, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few good hardcore games get released for the Wii after the WiiU launches as well. 
I'll try to get a WiiU console at launch, but I'm not sure how difficult it will be to find.

I think November would be an ideal month for Nintendo to release the WiiU. Just before the holidays and winter shopping spree. Perfect time. Hopefully they announce an official release date at this years E3.
