I'm definitely going to blindly pre-order a copy of the Bonus Edition. I haven't had a chance to experience the first game, but this racer sounds fricken amazing! I believe the 3DS version will also support voice chat, but I'm unable to locate any concrete evidence to support my suspicion's. Will any other WiiWareWave member's be purchasing a copy of Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing: Transformed?

I will be but I'm picking up the PS3 copy.
Also, it was announced that it's 10 players online.
I really loved the first game, much more than MKW.
The shame was that MKW had a far better online, and so that's what took most of my time, kart racing wise.
But I cannot wait for this, and what's even better is that all 20 new tracks are from 20 different Sega series.

Yeah, there's probably 20 tracks and 10-player online in the PS3, X-box 360 and WiiU versions, so this information was probably referring to the 3DS version. Which is the version I'll be pre-ordering, because I'll be unable to afford a WiiU anytime soon. I'm glad at least one of member's showed interest, though.

Here's a couple videos I found on YouTube that you may not have seen yet.
Here's a gameplay impressions video of the WiiU version.
Discussion of, "Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed," begins at about the 14:25 mark.

No gamerace, I never experienced the original game for myself, but it seemed to have been received exceptionally well across all applicable platforms. I didn't see any logic in purchasing a copy of the original, at this point in time. Plus, the original game isn't available in 3D either.
Why do you ask?

I dunno. You seem awfully excited. So I was wondering if that was based on your experience with the first (I've never played it either) or just off the press around this one.

My interest in this game is fueled by the fact that the first game was very well received, and this game appears to be superior in every way. Plus, as I stated before, I pre-ordered the bonus edition for 3DS.

There are a few site's reporting that there will be a Wii port of this game and the online servers will be the same across all 3 platforms so everyone can play together online regardless of which console they bought this game for!

Are you serious Rukiafan?! Cross-platform connection would be so awesome, because you would never need to worry about the servers being dead. Although, it has been confirmed by SEGA that the WiiU version will not feature voice chat. I believe the 3DS version will support voice chat, but I haven't been able to confirm this. But I think SEGA would've already announced that information, if that wasn't the case.
By the way Komicturtle, you should definitely purchase the 3DS version, so you can play in 3D with me.
Edit: You know what Rukiafan, that might actually be the reason why SEGA decided to delay the release date until Dec. 11th in North America! Hmmm...

Here you go Komicturtle! I already know you're going to purchase the 3DS version, right? Well the link below will direct you to the product information page on Amazon. A, "BONUS EDITION" is currently available at a pre-order price of only $29.99 w/free shipping & handling and no applicable tax, so that would probably be your most cost effective route to take.

Yup. Already pre-ordered. As for cross-platform, I think that's impossible and unlikely. I'd be very surprised if that ever happens.

AWESOME! At least now I know I'll definitely have at least one friend to race against.
I wouldn't be so quick to state that cross-platform connection would be completely impossible Komicturtle. The graphics would go unchanged on each system respectively, of course. So your character would appear in high-resolution on the WiiU, even though your character doesn't on the 3DS. As long as the tracks are designed exactly the same, any issues that occur due to the difference in scale size could be easily adjusted & synchronized. The only issue that may occur would probably be related to the console's separate processesor speed's. I'm sure there's ways around any issue that may present itself, by comparing & contrasting.

Well, I can see 3DS with WiiU and PSVita with PS3. I just don't see it as X360 vs WiiU vs 3DS vs PS3 vs Vita. Especially with Microsoft's closed network. I've only seen Steam cross play with PS3 through Portal 2.

Yeah, that's exactly what Rukiafan was bringing to our attention. The 3DS would only be capable of connecting with the Wii and or WiiU console(s). In fact, Sony has already released games for the PS Vita that feature cross-platform connection with the PS3, so this is really nothing new. Maybe part of that Wii update we received a couple days ago was the foundation for such a feature.

The first review for the PS3 & X-box 360 versions is now in at IGN.
IGN's PS3 & X-box 360 Review
It states at the top of the page that IGN will be releasing their coverage of the 3DS & PS Vita versions soon. I know the PS3 & X-box 360 versions will be superior, compared to the 3DS & PS Vita, but this score is still a great start. I'm expecting the 3DS & PS Vita versions to be awarded an 8 out of 10.

Well guys, I have some very disappointing news pertaining to the 3DS version of S&ASRT. I've recently been informed by a representative from Sumo Digital that the 3DS version will not support voice chat. Even more disappointing, it has been brought to my attention that the 3DS version of S&ART has been delayed again until Feb. 12th, 2013. Therefore, I've cancelled my pre-order.

Komicturtle, I still really want the game. I'd just need something to entertain me now rather than later. I had already planned to purchase RE:R, so I figured why not. I can always order a copy of S&ASRT at a later time. I'm still disappointed about the lack of voice chat, though. I guess I just need to get my a*s a laptop & Skype.
