I'm glad the fanboys are fighting the industry's push towards mainstreaming video games because all that will lead to is pretty casual games or violent games that are mindnumbingly boring

Here's an analogy for you guys. Nobody is perfect. If we were all perfect, we would all then need to be exactly the same in every way imaginable. If we were all exactly same in every way imaginable, how then could any one of us actually be considered perfect. In other words, would you guys enjoy being gamers in a world full of nothing but unoriginal videogames that play it safe, or would you rather live in a world where it's perfectly fine to take chances and maybe be a little bit imperfect or different from the norm? I hope I haven't confused any of you with this analogy. I know it may seem a little vague, but you really just need to think about it in a metaphorical frame of mind.
Edit: The moral of my analogy is everybody isn't the same. Imperfections, or should I say indifferences are what define who/what we/videogames are. Which dictates what demographic they'll most likely appeal to. Without these imperfections/indifferences, videogames would all be cut from the same cloth, as so would we ourselves. All in all, imperfections/indifferences are what lead us all in specfic directions through life. If the videogaming industry were ever to decide and only appeal to the mainstream audience's, I can almost guarantee they'd eventionally come to the realisation that the mainstream really isn't the big picture my friends.
