Etrian Odyssey 1+2+3 on Nintendo Switch: Thoughts?

This’ll be my first official foray into the franchise (I missed every entry on 3DS), and I know there are fans of the series on WiiWareWave.

Anyone else excited for these?

I happy, though I bought Persona Q and Q2 on the eShop before it closes because my friend told me they probably couldn’t work on Switch, but since they’re designed a lot like Etrian Odyssey now there’s a much larger chance of them coming over as well

@KokorOtaku Why wouldn't they work on Switch? DRPG's were just as common on the single screen Vita and Switch has plenty of similar games in its library already.

@KokorOtaku @KeAfan7 Agreed. The screen is wide enough to fit two DS-sized displays with minimal bezels above and below, so a significant number of returning titles from that era is also possible.

For example, porting across the DS Pokémon games is easy as sammiches: main gameplay on one side, and menus on the other. The only things that’d need to be rearranged and/or altered are cutscenes that take up both screens on their native handheld, which could be recreated as anime-styled sequences.

Can you imagine it? So much nostalgia… so much value… so much fun…

@KokorOtaku Have you tried Saviors On Sapphire Wings & Strangers of Sword City Revisited: Remastered on Switch? If not I highly recommend it as it's the closest thing to the Etrian Odyssey games currently available on the Nintendo Switch. The two games in the collection are every bit as good as the Etrian Odyssey series!
