Does New Super Mario Bros. DS live up to its Wii counterpart?

I absolutely love the creative levels,the difficulty,and the old school feel of NSMBW and was thinking about getting the DS game,but I'd like to know a few things first.


Is it the same game

If not is it as good as its wii counterpart

It's not the same game. Since the DS game came first so the Wii version takes a lot of things and added some things (like multiplayer and that horrible guide thing that pops up after eight failed attempts).

But if you like 2D Mario platformers, just get it.
