Rare or hard to find Amiibos?

I can't find Marth or the Villager anywhere. Why hasn't Nintendo shipped more of these Amiibos to retailers yet?

The rumor isn't true, but non the less I got all 3 launch day despite not pre ordering them, I may pre order Shulk though seeing its a GS exclusive

See, this is why I'm only prioritising on well-known characters. With funds tight due to maximum spoilage of my family and friends, I'm likely going to be less-inclined to shop for a while (except for the post-Christmas sales, of course), so I have my doubts about certain characters. Marth would be the perfect substitute for Ganondorf if the latter isn't released...as long as the Altean prince doesn't cost a princely amount on eBay/Amazon/insert online marketplace here. Neutral

It has just dawned on me that I will never be able to get the amiibo I'd like - even narrowing down my wishlist to the bare minimum won't allow me to complete my personal collection, because they are just so scarce, with even the figures from the upcoming wave completely sold out across Australia. The members of this forum know that I'm generally a cheerful guy, and I don't typically get upset, but just this epiphany alone has me on the verge of tears. Crying or Very sad

The rare ones in the US are: Villager, Ike, Marth, Pit, Capt. falcon, Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac, Shulk, Rosalina and Luma, Mega Man, and Sonic

@Zack no dedede is rare here too :/ until yesterday Toad wasn't even available, but I did manage to snag a Mega Man, also Lucario, Shulk, Meta Knight, Rosalina and Luma, and Gold Mario are exclusive to each different places here in the US making them even rarer then normal

It's weird that some amiibo were dissed by fans before they even came out ("No way am I getting yoga girl! What a dumb idea for a character!"), yet they are now the most highly sought after characters in the series ("Wow, a Wii Fit Trainer for $75?! That's so cheap! I heard King Dedede amiibo are starting to appear on store shelves throughout the US. Is he still pretty rare over there, or could he now be considered "uncommon"? I ask this because he's the one character out of my core 15 which I have the most doubts about finding, and there are no restocks in Australia yet.

I managed to pre order Ness, which I assume will be rare, I hope to pick up a robin and Lucina tomorrow first thing at my store before I head to work... I think they stock at 9:00AM so I'll try to get their before... Plus I'll pick up Wario

@Zack that's the ONLY reason I picked up Silver Mario, otherwise I don't plan on picking up repeats (unless they do a ton of different costumes or different Barents of character like villager and wii fit trainer or shiny Pokemon)

The stock shortage hasn't improved in my region yet. Mario and Bowser are the only ones that I can find right now.
