Sonic X Shadow Generations Review
Sonic Team
Release: October 22nd, 2024
Available on: Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S&X, Steam
Green Hill Zone: Introduction
Many years ago, Sonic Generations raised the bar on visuals, level, and audio design. In this remaster, it is raised to a full 60fps. Plus Shadow's chapter also flows perfectly complimenting the experience. Bringing classic stages with a modern twist, plus new levels that will keep you going.
Escape From the City: Music and Sound Design
The soundtrack from the original Generations was already a wild ride. But now, with Shadow's tale, the music emulates his personality, energy, and journey. With a blend of rocktronica, drum and bass, progressive house, nu metal, and more. Plus it features a ton of sweet, and amazing remixes that you will want to turn the volume up on for.
Space Colony ARK : Visuals, Art, and Level Design
Generations already looked incredible, utilizing the Hedgehog Engine. Now within SXSG, it is remastered and it looks amazing even more. Also Shadow's journey boasts more fidelity, contrast, colors, atmosphere, and environments. Stages you will remember from the past. Or if you are just joining us, for the first time. Welcome.
"I Am All Of Me" : Controls
The button setup is easy to learn. But if you need a refresher, both Sonic and Shadow Generations have helpful tutorials throughout the game. Also every button is used, depending on the stage, or scenario, boss fight, and exploring the in game hub world. It is responsive, also on the PS5, the speaker will play additional sound fx.
"Supporting Me" : Closing thoughts
Sonic X Shadow Generation is a remaster done right. It looks, sounds, and plays on another level. Faster, and better than before. If you are a long time fan, and missed out on this entry the first time, you are in for a treat. If you are new, enjoy the ride.

Nice review @Kadosho. Are you just reviewing Sonic The Hedgehog games or are there other games you plan to review? Your review pacing might put WiiWareWave back on the map. I'm a relatively new member but I've visited this website almost daily since 2012 and poor @KeAfan7 has struggled keeping things going for years now.
Two of his staff members died one deleted his account and from what I've heard caused WiiWareWave to lose hundreds of reviews. Then a moderator also went rogue and nuked most of the forum topics. Then the icing on the cake that most of his staff became too busy to do anything.
So for the past four years he's been keeping things going all by himself. It might not be my place to say as the new girl in this community, but he could use all the help he can get in revitalizing this community!
