"I'm Here": The Story So Far
Sonic Frontiers was a game, a journey like no other before it. A brief teaser had Sonic running against some strange entity, giving it his all, only to be enveloped by light, and energy. This place is a mystery, a land lost to time itself

But as you play the game, there is something deeper going on. Beyond the vast lands, it hides a story that has been waiting for you, to unlock the truth.

"Starfall Islands" : Open World
Sonic Frontiers takes place in a far off space, away from everything. An island tucked away, long ago found by other beings that called it home. Now as its visitor, this place is alive, thriving, but it is also awakened a mysterious entity that may be connected to beyond time and space.

Everything you see, you can go there, the limits are what Sonic is capable of. But the more you unlock, everything can be explored. From the rails, to hidden hideaways, to even sub bosses that protect precious treasures. This is not a simple game any more, this open world is the game.

In various media, most panned on the lack of interactivity. Because they were not aware of building the in game world, as you explore. But for those that persevered, they found a unique experience. Everything you do, from zipping through stages, picking up collectibles, and finding new little friends all about the island. Everything had an impact.

This island, and further on expands the more you do. There is also a day and night cycle as well, where on rare occasions a star might fall causing a chain reaction. When you collect enough of them, it also unlocks hidden details within everything you explore, plus an XP boost.

There are tons of stages throughout each locale, from deserts, to the underground, and more. As you unlock stages, your abilities do as well. Every sub boss, or boss you encounter taps into the island itself. Along with the Chaos Emeralds.

Without giving any spoilers, this is a game for longtime fans to explore deeper lore that you might have been pondering since a long time ago.

"Undefeatable" : Music
The soundtrack within Frontiers is: beautiful, moving, and powerful. Diving into various genres of rock, electronica, trance, club, and more. The variety in sound styles offers something for everyone. The rock vibes are within the Boss themes, and they are epic. But the CyberSpace stages, they also hold their own. Delivering a feeling of being lost, but somehow figuring things out.

The music, is like a compass, coming together with every accomplishment. Like a puzzle forming an image that unlocks the more you explore.

"Break Through It All" : Controls:
The controls use every button possible. It is a workout for the fingers. Also the use of attack abilities, these are unlocked after gaining enough experience: from finding the island inhabitants, and reuniting them with their loved ones, or Chiefs (they are the old ones) you encounter along the way. XP is also gained by ranking in stages.

The free dlc wraps the journey within this game. But it is not easy, even for longtime fans it is challenging. Plus you have the ability to play as Amy, Knuckles, and Tails.
But wait, what about Shadow? That is a tale for another time

The stages are a must play, and the music also has some sweet new renditions that are marvelous.

Best part? It costs nothing to obtain this. It was part of Sega's campaign to offer content throughout the game's release.

"One Way Dream" : Closing thoughts
Sonic Frontiers. It is a masterpiece. A fresh start for the series. It may be a departure from the usual run of things, but that makes it even better. A game series needs to take chances, and evolve.

If this is the future for the series, I say. Lets go!!!

Also as a bonus, an awesome animated short was released before the game. In this animation, it comes from the perspective of Knuckles. While on a quest, only to find a bizarre out of place item that takes him somewhere unknown. And it may have ties to everything him, and his friends have ever known

Happy to share. The Sonic series to me, is a treasure. Even with some of the bumps a long the way. But Frontiers to me, that raises the bar. I cannot wait to see what Sonic Team does next
