Mario Golf: World Tour Discussion
on April 26th 2014, 10:45 pm
I went onto the eShop to download the free demo of Mario Golf: World Tour, and I noticed that if you get the download version you receive a free download code for the Game Boy Color version of the original! I'm giving some serious thought towards getting this on day one! Is anybody else excited for this game?

What happens when you take an animé series written by some random dude from Down Underland and abridge the Brocc out of it until it's a hilarious, muddvak cheesy, spoiler-fuelled self-parody that puts even the Butt Mode Super-Shorts to shame?
Well, you get... whatever the Brocc this mess calls itself...

Crystals of Silveria Abridged: Now "broadcasting in syndication" right here on WiiWareWave!

I'm looking forward to the game, but I'm still baffled that the series has become a handheld exclusive. The series would have sold well on the Wii and would sell even better on the Wii U given that there's no competition for the game on the U.

It appears they are. We will have a few options. This is for NA as I don't know how EU is doing it. We are getting 3 dl packs. Each costing 5.99$ each one will include 2 new courses and one character. The first pack will be available day one. However you can get a season pass if you think you want all 3 for 14.99$ and also get an additional Gold Mario character day one for that purchase. If you get the season pass the other courses when released will be available to you. Since the initial cost of the game is only 29.99 I think Nintendo did the right thing with the dlc cost!
Oh and yes I want it ALL!

That's exactly how Nintendo is handling the add-on packs in PAL territories. The one downside in Australia is that the game itself is full price...@Tech101 wrote:@Amufungal wrote:I hope Nintendo does the DLC right in this game

I tried out the demo, but I wasn't impressed. I thought the courses would be a little more imaginative and a little less conservative. It's not a bad golf game by any means, but it just doesn't feel very unique. IMO

I've asked Rukiafan if I'll be allowed to write an impressions article and a review of this game. Hopefully he says yes as it's been a while since I last wrote a review on WiiWareWave.

Has coin battle returned from Mario Golf (GCN)?

I haven't checked yet, but I don't think so, although there are some minigames that involve collecting coins. The downloadable courses, however, are reskinned versions of every course from the Nintendo 64 Mario Golf!Rukiafan wrote:Has coin battle returned from Mario Golf (GCN)?

I created a tournament if anyone is interested. The code is 48-5760-8017-4061. This will be all about skill as no Mii's will be allowed. High winds and 18 holes. Also no Gold Mario as not everyone will have him yet! Hope you can try a round.

I found one rather quickly the second day. I won a four person match but one player did drop out. You shouldn't have a problem as it seem 100s of thousands are already playing this.

I haven't tried the online features yet (well, apart from the downloadable content), though I probably should so I can write a thorough review. Oh, I'll try and write an impressions article early next week. If it's well-received, then I might do one for every game I review.

Are there any members of this community that still play this game online?
I can't believe that it has been almost 20 days since the last post.

Possibly after my mum gets better, since I'm taking care of her. So any time from mid-June would be great.

The music for Rock Candy Mines sounds like something from a Golden Sun game, which figures considering Camelot developed both series.
