GameCube games

Will the 3DS be able to handle GameCube games?

If they re-release Wind Waker, I'm selling Spirit Tracks.

The 3DS can handle just about any GameCube port. Even the bigger multi-disk games should fit on the large capacity cartridges.

What the 3DS can`t do, and will never do, is be able to emulate the games like it can with the Virtual Console titles on the eShop. If a GameCube game is to come to the 3DS, it will probably be a retail game and built from the ground up or a quick and easy port.

Considering retail 3DS games will be downloadable from the eshop the idea of Gamecube games becoming available through the eshop doesn't seem as farfetched as it used to lol.

I heard somewhere that gamecube games would be avaliable on the WiiUs eshop. I think its just a rumour though

@KingreX32 I'm quite certain Nintendo themselves announced that as the reason why the WiiU isn't backwards compatible with Gamecube games.

GameCube games will be on the Wii u eShop because it makes business sense. I'll download a few good titles if they appear. GameCube games are quite hard to find in the second hand market.

I have all good Gamecube games, except for Cubivore and Ikaruga. They're the only ones I hope to download on WiiU one day.
