Can anyone tell me if Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels is any good? I actually found Super Mario Bros. 1 & 2 to be more enjoyable than Super Mario Bros. 3. The original Super Mario Bros. being my favorite.

Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels is actually a continuation of Super Mario Bros. 1 with almost identical gameplay that is much harder, and has several new twists such as poison mushrooms, wind etc.
The game even features hiden worlds! Mario and Luigi move differently Mario can run faster, but Luigi can jump higher/further, but can't slow down as quickly as mario.

I've heard Mario Golf is excellent, but the VC version does have some content missing.

DoReMi Fantasy: Milon no DokiDoki Daibouken from the import section of the Super Nintendo games would be a good fit.

It's not translated into English very much or at all if I recall, but you don't need any Japanese comprehension anyway. It's top-tier entertainment, even though it's pretty obscure.
