Princess Peach has been kidnapped by Bowser and hidden in one of the many paintings brought to life by the power stars in Bowsers' possession. It's up to Mario to gather the power stars hidden in each of the paintings and face off against the koopa king to save the day!
Super Mario 64 was not only Marios' first 3D adventure but also one of the very first 3D games released for a home console! The game has more than 16 worlds and over 100 challenges as well as secret challenges hidden throughout the castle. Each world is completely unique and has multiple missions to accomplish such as beating a boss, finding a hidden star or racing koopa the quick just to name a few. This game is also extremely long for a 3D platformer as it can take 30-40 hours to do everything in the game. I must stress that this game should be played with a Gamecube controller or Classic Controller Pro as you will likely damage an original model Classic Controllers' analog stick playing this game.
The graphics in this game are actually better then they were in the original (N64) release "due to the better hardware of the Wii" and are quite detailed as well as colorful. This game also has a vast amount of music and most are awesome and quite varied (as is the case with most other Mario games). Especially Bowsers theme.
Bottom line: This is one of the first 3D games ever released and has top-notch gameplay as well as great graphics and music. The only downside is the original Classic Controller can get damaged while playing this game. At a price of 1,000 Wii Points this game is an absolute must have title on the Virtual Console service.
Score ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ 10/10
10- Perfect This game is nearly perfect, and has little if any flaws, and is a blast to play!
