so I narrowed it down to Warios Gold Mine being the issue for me since all other tracks work on time trials, but Warios Gold Mine just loads more the LEGO City Undercover did :/

Have you tried deleting your download from your HDD? It could be a faulty hard drive.

I would look into Anime_Gurl's suggestion as she might be onto something.

Well, I tried it in the end and it actually worked smoothly. I was pleasantly surprised about the extra-special touches on the Mute City and Hyrule Circuit courses!

I can't wait for pack 2 to be released!

I believe it was my hard drive that was bad since I moved the MK8 data to my WiiU and it worked fine, but games I moved to the hard drive wouldn't start... Oh well I can just move games to my WiiU when I wanna play and just store them on my hard drive until I wanna play

Ice Ice Outpost is kind of underwhelming compared to the other DLC tracks in MK8. It's not bad, but could have been better, otherwise the DLC was the pinnacle of perfection!

I agree, Ice Ice Outpost was a little boring. Out of both non-retro, non-crossover courses, Dragon Driftway is definitely the pick of the clutch.

Now everything works on the hard drive for MK8 at least... Bayonetta, Pikmin 3, and NSMBU on the other hand act up :/

Maybe later. I'm thinking of starting the holiday crossover special, which I'd like to be feature-length. Of course, I could race now and write later.

I have an idea. Why don't we do a Holiday Friendly in Mario Kart 8? We could choose from a small pool of characters and vehicles, and follow a fixed selection of courses themed around the holiday season. I was thinking along the lines of the following:

The Koopalings

Vehicles (10)
KARTS
Standard Kart

Whenever I play the download courses, I'll probably play them in my own custom cup configurations:

Ice Flower Cup - Consists of four all-new courses in the style of the Mushroom, Flower, Star and Special Cups
Dragon Driftway
Ice Ice Outpost
Wild Woods
Super Bell Subway

Red Shell Cup - Contains four newly-returning courses in the same mould as the Shell, Banana, Leaf and Lightning Cups
Wii Wario's Gold Mine
GBA Ribbon Road
3DS Koopa City (Neo Bowser City)
GBA Cheese Land

F-Zero Cup - Features four "crossover" courses from the Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing and F-Zero series!
Mute City
Hyrule Circuit
Animal Crossing
Big Blue

Excitebike Cup - Includes three courses which have appeared more than twice before, plus a special, randomly-generated Excitebike-themed course!
GCN Baby Park
Excitebike Arena
GCN Yoshi Circuit
SNES Rainbow Road

This would make the races much more fun to play by grouping them into themed cups. What does everyone else think?

Awesome apparently you can earn stars above your username online by earning one or more stars in every GP and in every speed class in the game, just as you could in Mario Kart Wii.

I think the Animal Crossing track is my personal favorite track of pack 2, but Big Blue is a very close second. Cheese Land, Ribbon Road, Neo Bowser City, and Baby Park are awesome as well.

Okay, here's what I would name the three re-returning courses in both add-ons:

DS GCN Baby Park

DS GCN Yoshi Circuit

3DS SNES Rainbow Road

Also if you beat a cup on say 100CC and get 3 Stars you apparently get 3 Stars on 50CC too... At least that's what I saw on miiverse

These courses are amazing.
The wife and I are enjoying the new dlc.

The DLC is great, although I haven't unlocked 200CC yet since I barley beat 100CC yet I take too long and have too many other games...

I don't even play 150cc in most MK games, although the glitched-up race in Bowser's Castle (Mario Kart 64) last night with my parents sure felt like 200cc...hm...maybe MK64's glitches were Nintendo's inspiration for 200cc...!

Some courses are downright dreadful in 200cc mode. There are many places with invisible walls and solid objects that your kart can pass through that completely ruins the mode imo.

I just crunched some numbers, and the results are staggering. The Mario Kart series has a whopping 140 original courses, plus it also has 30 traditional battle arenas. That's a total of 170 unique stages!

79 courses have made return appearances, some more than once; with each variation of a course in every game, that's 91 retro course variations. Not only that, but 10 battle arenas have been remade as well. Mario Kart 8 has a special selection of 8 battle courses, which are eight courses modified into battle stages. Mario Kart 8 also has 5 special crossover courses. That's a total of 236 courses and 48 battle stages, or 284 courses and arenas!

Six games feature a Mirror Mode, offering 112 mirror courses, bringing the grand total to 348 course variants, or a humongous 396 total course and arena variants! This is what the Mario Kart series has provided us over a period of nearly 25 years.
