Get ready for some magic as Shantae: Half-Genie Hero has cast a fireball on Kickstarter and blasted its way past its initial $400,000 goal! The final campaign money raised was $811,962 and the game reached four of its nine stretch goals!

According to a post campaign update on the official Kickstarter page Paypal donations are still being accepted towards further stretch goals so you may still want to donate to the fund so more of those stretch goal goodies make it into the final game!

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will be released on the Wii U eshop in October of 2014! We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available!

Have you contributed to this Kickstarter campaign? And will you be downloading this title on the Wii U eshop when it's released next October? Let us know in the comments below!

What?! There's still another five optional stretch goals left at $800,000?! That's twice the amount of the initial stretch goal! How much do they actually want for all nine stretch goals? In my opinion, all of these stretch goals feels like purchasing DLC for a game that isn't even available yet. Very Happy
Yay I really can't wait until this game is released! I love you
I've yet to contribute to any Kickstarter yet, but both Shantae and Mighty No. 9 have been the closest I've ever come to doing so. It's a shame they came around at the same time or I probably would have invested in both, though I'll be buying the full versions of both anyway so it's not as if the end game is significantly different. I'm certainly hyped.
