The Power of Twins!



In Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams you must travel between two versions of the same world to progress through the stages and save the protagonist's sister, but the game is very challenging and the bosses are quite tough, keep reading to find out more about this gem of a game!



Gameplay:

In Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams the game starts off easy with a few tutorial levels which teach you the basics, but after that the difficulty spikes to delightfully challenging levels. You can switch between a dream world and nightmare world seamlessly to progress through the game and this will be a much used feature as many areas can only be progressed through in one world or the other, and you will be switch frequently at points.

Some moves can only be performed in one world or the other and you will find that some enemies also have different moves in each world. The game features several modes of play such as Time-Trials which add to the enjoyment of the title. The only negative aspect of the gameplay that I can think of is the somewhat long loading times between levels, but overall the gameplay is nearly perfect!

The bosses in the game require much strategy and are extremely challenging, but that is a good thing in my opinion!



Graphics And Sound:

The graphics in the game are extremely detailed and fluid with little to no slowdown even when transitioning between worlds and the character models are very impressive, even though some enemy models are rather generic they still look great!



The music in the game is amazing and it really fits the mood of the game and the sound effects are subtle yet nice, the only negative thing is that there is a bug that prevents sound from being played on the gamepad during off-screen play which does hurt the overall score of the game, at least until a patch is released.



Bottom Line:

With top-notch gameplay, a high level of difficulty, superb graphics, and an amazing soundtrack, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is one of the best platformers currently released on the Wii U eshop, but a bug that prevents sound from playing on the gamepad does make this game fall just short of a perfect score at the time of writing. This game is highly recommended!
