Actually I enjoy Thousand Year Door better then the original game,it's longer and has a way better story!
I highly recommend getting this game!

Yes, I would say this one is significantly better than the original. It has a more interesting story with more depth (impressive for a Mario game, I must say), plenty of side quests, improved badges, and generally improves on the formula. I was compelled to the game a second time when my disk died, despite playing through it twice before.
