I might not be what you would consider a fan of the Call of Duty series myself, but I can most certainly understand why fans might be disappointed that the latest game in the series, Call of Duty Black Ops 2 will not be able to produce 1080p resolution natively on the next-gen Nintendo system.

I don't understand why there isn't a Nintendo Direct for North America, because today there are a ton of exciting announcements for the Nintendo 3DS eShop (more exciting than Mario DLC in my opinion).

This morning, a typical Thursday morning routine to check on whats new on the Nintendo eShop, I noticed something was missing on the little 3DS digital shop. The Mario Kart 7 Update (Ver. 1.1) is no longer shown on the lower row of the main menu when scrolling to the far right. Then coincidentally on the same day, a new Nintendo Direct for North America was announced.

Surprise!

A new Nintendo Direct in Japan will broadcast in just a few hours from now at 8:00 pm PDT / 11:00 pm EDT. North American version will broadcast soon after, possible not tonight, and Europe will have to wait until 4:00 am PDT / 7:00 am EST.

Square Enix announce 300,000 active subscribers in Japan for Dragon Quest X.



Dragon Quest X released on August 2nd for Japan, and managed to sell roughly 550,000 copies. Players pay 1,000 yen (13 US dollars) a month.

For comparison sake, Final Fantasy XI peaked at about 600,000 subscribers.

THQ has revealed several details on how the WiiU gamepad functions with Darksiders 2 alongside other controller options available to the player.



Darksiders 2 will support the WiiU gamepad as well as the pro controller. WiiU gamepad will allow players to either play through the TV or the gamepad. Darksiders 2 is expected to release on November 18th.

None of the publishers including SEGA, Microsoft or Sony wanted to fund or publish a sequel to critically acclaimed Bayonetta. Nintendo stepped up to fund and publish the project, and now "fans" are posting hate mail left, right and center.



I guess this is how "real gamers" and so called "true & loyal fans" show their gratitude for a continuation in a series which was assumed dead due to lack of support from publishers. Bayonetta 2 wouldn't exist without Nintendo's support. Get over it...

All eyes are locked on the WiiU at the moment but Level-5 is showing some Wii love as they announce Inazuma Eleven Go Strikers 2013.



Level-5 will release the title on December 20th in Japan. Nintendo of Europe has confirmed they will bring Inazuma Eleven Strikers to Europe on September 28th. Nintendo of America is yet to make a statement for North American territories.

Although DSiWare games can be transferred over to the Nintendo 3DS, Nicalis has announced they will be releasing Cave Story on the eShop with updated features.

Gamers over in Japan may have to wait a little longer than the rest of us to get their hands on the WiiU, but Nintendo is making up for that late arrival as every WiiU premium set will include a Dragon Quest X beta test key.



The beta test will be available shortly after the console's launch and players will be able to import any save data they may have into the final game.
